The Blue Supremacy

Published: October 5, 2009

While Liverpool can’t seem to come back on the winning side, Chelsea may be starting a new winning streak.

Before facing Chelsea, Rafa Benitez’s team has lost against Fiorentina, with 2-0, in the Champions League.

While Chelsea weren’t facing a tough opponent, they only managed to score 1 goal, but it was the winning goal of the match they’ve played against Apoel Nicosia.

Now, Liverpool can’t seem to come back on track in the Premier League, as they’ve with 2-0 the derby against the Blues. Liverpool has quality players, but are Chelsea’s players so much better than the Reds?

Frank Lampard has declared that Liverpool are Chelsea’s toughest rival in England, but none of them are the best, according to Lampard, as he acknowledged that Sir Alex Ferguson’s players have earned the title “The Best”. There are still many games to be played.

Though, Lampard realized that Liverpool is a big rival and he said that it’s nice to play against good players, but it’s more fun to play in the same team with them. Anyway, Lampard has a winner’s mentality. Hopefully he’ll keep it up.

Speaking of keeping up; Liverpool play the next game against the now highly motivated boys from Sunderland, which got away with 1 point from Old Trafford, as they made 2-2 with ManU.

Though, teams like Sunderland aren’t such a big problem for Liverpool, but given the current situation, they might have to focus very much on their strikers, as they haven’t scored in the last 2 games.

Chelsea is now on the first place in the Premier League, with 21 points, followed by ManU, with 19 points. FC Liverpool is on the 5th place with 15 points, the same as Arsenal and ManU’s noisy neighbors Manchester City.

Chelsea’s next match is against Aston Villa, but only after tonight’s Aston Villa vs Manchester City we’ll know if Chelsea is facing a motivated team.
