The Fall of AC Milan

Published: October 1, 2009

After a castatrofal performance in the Serie A, the Rossoneri’s are now on a “not-winning” streak in the UEFA Champions League.

The last match AC Milan has played in the Champions League was against the motivated boys from FC Zurich.
FC Zurich, being a guest, has started the match with quite a positive attitude and this has helped them to score an impressive goal only in the 10th minute. This was the only goal of the match, the goal wich marked one the Rossoneri’s worst defeats in the last 5 years.

Milan isn’t the same as it was last year, but if bad performances like this are continuing the Milan fans may switch their “religion” and the milan board may dismiss coach Leonardo.
Rumors have been already started, as it was said that Marco van Basten will come to take over and save AC Milan.

Many fans say that the club’s gesture of putting a former AC Milan player as coach was a good idea, because he cares about the club. Although Leonardo may seem to care about the club, it is very obvious that he is incompetent.

Leonardo has declared that is sad about the defeat. Also, he said that the early goal that Zurich scored has put them in difficulty beacause Zurich has played very defensive. Though, AC Milan has bigger defensive problems after they socre a goal.

Milan had some big scoring chances, but, as coach Leonardo says, they can’t be blamed very much as they are very unlucky.
Well, when a team like AC Milan has scored 5 goals in 8 matches it isn’t unlucky…it’s cursed; but it’s questionable.

Or, maybe Leonardo has realised that he isn’t capable of doing great things at Milan, but Galliani and Berlusconi won’t change the coach. After the loss against FC Zurich, the board had a meeting. Vice president Galliani has declared that he is willing to carry on with the current group, but Galliani is a little dreamer, as he declared that he expects the team to finish in a top four position. Galliani was right though, as he said that everyone of them has to do much better.

AC Milan plays the next game away, against Atalanta, on Sunday the 4th of October.
