Gerrard 1, Supporter 0

Last year, in December, Liverpool has won by 5:1 against Newcastle. Gerrard has not only scored 2 goals, but this win has put Liverpool in the first place of the Premier League. The unpleasant thing about this win was the fact that after the match, in a Southport bar, Gerrard had gotten in an altercation with a supporter, who has later sued Gerrard. Stevie G claimed that he has acted in self-defense. Although he was at the wrong time in the wrong place, he was sentenced “Not Guilty” after the trial which had place at Liverpool Crown Court. The judge has also told Stevie G that he can remain calm, as his reputation is intact. This is what the judge said, but we all know that his action is questionable, as is the judge’s decision. Only now Stevie G is admitting that the trial has changed him. He found the trial frightening and intimidating, but that’s why he’s a football player and not a lawyer. Though, on the field he is still the strong character we all know, but in his private life he wants to make some changes, like choosing a better vacation location, being home earlier or not celebrating in a bar every of Liverpool’s wins. He also declared that he is conscious about the fact that he has to make such sacrifices, as he is paid very well and doesn’t want that thing to change. The English midfielder declared that throughout the trial he kept telling himself that whatever happened, he would never be back in of these rooms again. This is questionable, because if he gets punched in the face I don’t think that he will not punch back. The trial had place just when his team-mates were playing in Thailand. He felt sorry for not being there where he should be. Football is a joy Liverpool’s 29 year-old captain, and he intends to play six or seven more years. But, what’s more important, he would like to end his career at Liverpool. It is understandable, because he was practically raised by FC Liverpool, from the age of 8 years. Maybe not coincidentally he is wearing the number 8 on his soccer shirt.
