Real Madrid is breaking what seemed like impossible records for any other football club in the world. The Santiego Bernabeu team managed to sell about 1.2 million shirts with Cristiano Ronaldo's name on them. And that just in Madrid! Real's fans form all over the world who have visited Spain's capital this year have all wanted to buy a shirt with the player's name on it.
Behind the goals on the field, Ronaldo is a real gold mine for Real. If we were to make a simple multiplication (I'll wait for you to get your calculators), at a price of 85 euros a shirt, Real made about 102 million euros, from which production costs are subtracted. Clearly, the team covered their costs, because this was only taking into consideration the stores in Madrid. Not even Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane or Daivid Beckham managed to sell better in their first season on the Bernabeu.
