Atletico Madrid have a bad start in UCL Group D, dropping points at home to newcomers APOEL on the opening match, drawing 0-0 with the Cypriot football team. Abel Resino’s side have lost important points in this match, taking into account that they will have to face Chelsea twice.

Porto defeated Atletico Madrid in last 16 in last Champions League season, after drawing 2-2 at Dragao and 0-0 at Vicente Calderon. So, the Portuguese champions should be confident ahead of tonight’s soccer match. Jesualdo Ferreira will be without Miguel Lopes, Silvestre Varela and Cristian Rodriguez, all injured, while Fernando is suspended after being sent off with Chelsea.
On the other side, Atletico Madrid have a terrible season start, winning just one from the five matches played in Primera Division. Despite their poor run of form, Atletico should not be too worried about the match with Porto because at their last visit on Dragao, they left with one point.
Resino’s biggest problem is Kun Aguero, who could miss the match due to a thigh injury. Also, Resino will be without his side’s goalkeeper, Sergio Asenjo, as well as Argentinian Maxi Rodriguez and Spaniard Raul Garcia, all injured.
