Head 2 head
As an overview, it must be said that both teams possess much more than pure strike force and intend to show just that in tomorrow’s clash which might very well decide the fate of Group B; at this early stages, it’s always crucial to gain as many points and set a good tempo for the remainder of the season.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad have emphasized that very aspect when Nemanja Vidic spoke of how the “bad memory” of the 2008/2009 Champions League final in Rome actually spurs them on to progress yet again to the very last stage of the competition and getting their hands on the much desired trophy. No one could have summed up better and more clearly United’s situation than Wolfsburg’s manager, Armin Veh, who said in a recent interview that “despite the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, United are still strong.”

The Scot went on to offer praise to his counterpart’s side, stating that “the two Wolfsburg strikers [Dzeko and Grafite] scored 71 goals between them last season, which is incredible, so we’re looking forward to the game. Germany is a good football nation and Wolfsburg’s progress of last year says a lot for their ambition.”
